Jim Mather MSP for Argyll and Bute opened our tourism sector workshops on Islay
Jim Mather MSP was keen to show his support for the recent HILinks workshop for Islay and Jura businesses. The event set out to give practical advice on the effective use of ICT to boost business while improving service quality and managing costs.
With the help of two tourism experts - Stewart Bell (Napier University) and Professor John Lennon (Glasgow Caledonian University) - the main topics covered were;
- How to attract and retain visitors
- Service quality for increased sales
- Managing costs, gross profits and understanding yield pricing
The workshop was open to any business, social enterprise or local community organisation working within the tourism sector.
